Matching of Mentors & Mentees

The Mentor Committee will be working as a team to review the applications based upon applicant categories, knowledge, skills, as well as Mentor/Mentee request(s), including information provided in the Statements of Interest and Letters of Recommendation. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the matching process.


Application Approval

The Mentor Committee is responsible for Program Admissions and confirming that an applicant is a suitable candidate for the Mentor Program, that applicants have submitted all required documents, and that the $10 application fee has been received. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the approval process.

Once you have been notified that your application has been approved, you will be provided access to the Program's members-only website areas and encouraged to read through the Mentor Program Handbook and any associated documents in the members-only online Resources area.

Application Fees

A non-refundable $10 application fee is due for Mentor and Mentee applications, along with your application packet. The application fee covers administration, maintenance, and development of the Mentor Program.

For Mentors Only: 
If you continue in the Mentor Program with a new Mentee for consecutive years, then you pay the application fee only once. However, if you leave the Mentor Program and later want to rejoin, a new application fee will be required.

Qualifying CaRVTA Mentee Applicants:
RVT Students
Newly Licensed RVTs
Alternate Route Candidates
RVTs holding out-of-state licenses and seeking licensing in California
All Mentee applicants must be CaRVTA members in good standing

Qualifying CaRVTA Mentor Applicants:

Mentors must be RVTs with at least two (2) years of experience as a practicing RVT.
All Mentors must be CaRVTA members in good standing.
